How it started

In 2018, content marketing was at a crossroads.

If you were a marketer back then, then you know how fragmented and complicated the marketing ecosystem was. All your marketing channels were separate, each one functioning as their own micro-universe, and there were no paths connecting them together. But the silos couldn’t last forever. Technology was evolving fast to meet consumer demands, and we knew marketing — the stories we told and the way we delivered them — had to change along with it.

How it evolved

Little by little, we worked with clients that saw the same potential in digital content as we did.

First it was websites. Then it was blogs. Then it was social media. Then one day, the possibilities burst wide open for what we could do with marketing.

Instead of playing defense against digital, we helped business leaders build a strong offense and use digital content to their marketing and sales advantage. Blog articles, on-demand videos, live streams, webinars, dynamic landing pages, podcasts, social selling…the options were endless!

While our clients had access to all the content options in the world, the #1 problem was that they didn’t know how to truly connect it all together with storytelling. That’s when Sunny Side Up Marketing began. We realized that there could be a sunnier side to content marketing that combined digital marketing with the storytelling and authenticity that marketing and sales content needed, all while creating it with a smile, dedication, and passion behind the scenes.

Originally founded in 2018 as a side project and officially launched to the world in 2024 as a business, our vision is to change the way people connect through content. And the process of achieving that connection shouldn’t be hard or complex - it should be fun! Kelly Campbell is an award-winning digital marketing leader with 15 years of experience in the industry. Her expertise in digital content marketing has helped a variety of retail, business, tech, health, and lifestyle brands achieve their marketing goals through innovative content driven by digital transformation. Located in Orange County, CA, Kelly balances her busy career with an active personal life. She enjoys spending time with her husband, two boys, and cat, baking treats in the kitchen, playing competitive tennis, scoring for her rookie hockey team, writing songs on the piano, playing board games with her family, and painting to relax in her downtime. Kelly is also a proud University of Southern California (USC) Trojans alumni, having graduated from Marshall School of Business in 2010 and served on the Marshall Alumni Board for Orange County as Marketing Chair from 2016-2019.
