It all began with an idea to change the way we connect marketing and sales through stories.

In 2018, sales and marketing teams were at a crossroads.

If you were a marketer five years ago, then you know how fragmented and complicated the ecosystem was. All your B2B marketing channels were separate, each one functioning as their own micro-universe, and there were no paths connecting them together. Technology was evolving incredibly fast to meet consumer demands, and we knew marketing —  the stories we told and the way we delivered them — had to change along with it.

Little by little, I worked with clients over the years that saw the same potential in digital content as I did. First it was websites. Then it was blogs. Then it was social media. Then one day….the possibilities burst wide open for marketing and sales.

Instead of playing defense against digital, I helped brands begin to build a strong offense and use digital technology to their marketing and sales advantage. Blog articles, on-demand videos, live streams, webinars, dynamic landing pages, podcasts, social selling…the options were endless!

But what it all boiled down to was a need for an immense amount of content — and the hoops that my clients had to jump through to get the content they needed – had to be fixed. Organizations may have understood the need to invest in producing content, but the shelf life of content started getting shorter and shorter. The big productions that you would save up your year’s marketing budget to do suddenly lasted only through a few months.

So, a big question arose.

What if we could change the way we connected through content, but do it in a way that was quick, easy, efficient, and fun, while building deeper emotional connections, telling memorable stories, and building long term brand value? A big ask - yes indeed. BUT I was up to the challenge.

That’s how Sunny Side Up Marketing started — to solve the biggest problem facing marketing today and find a way to make marketing and sales content more fun, enjoyable, and at the end of the day, tell a GREAT story.
